Hello!
I'm Reverie Benedetto, the author of Sauvageon.
During my childhood, I grew up surrounded by animals. I was also very into science and fantasy - I collected Dugald Steer's Ologies series and enjoyed learning about zoology. My favorite novel is Tim O'brien's The Things They Carried, as his style of non-linear short story writing is spectacular. My hometown of Pearland, Texas (just south of downtown Houston) is a diverse area, and I have always been thankful for that. My exposure to various different cultures, religions, ideologies, walks of life, personalities, etc. allowed me to become the curious yet respectful person I am today. I enjoy expressing my experiences and knowledge through my writing and characters. The idea of Sauvageon actually came to me while I was in the middle of showering. It was early 2014, and I needed a distraction from my rather strenuous high school life. Through daydreams I began fleshing out characters, settings, and plot lines, though I never physically recorded any of these until the summer of 2014. Over time, I wrote a few snippets and made character profiles to help development, and by late 2016, I had the solid foundation for a novel. Sauvageon has won much love & attention from the authors I work with, including a scholarship from the Houston literary organization Writespace. With all pre-orders of Sauvageon, I will include an extensive lorebook that covers each notable character, each Idol, the different prefectures and their cultures, the state of Earth at this point in time, my inspiration for certain characters/settings/plots, a glossary of terms, and even a section on the language of the Idols. Thank you for visiting my site and for supporting me. I hope to see you again when Sauvageon is finally released. |
